Your physical therapist

Who treats you

Physical therapy at All In One Specialty Health is provided by Patricia Freire, PT, physical therapist (individual NPI 1740231075). Her services include manual therapy, post-surgical rehabilitation, balance and vestibular therapy, ultrasound, electrotherapy and low-level laser therapy.

Injuries

Common injuries after a crash

Your plan depends on your evaluation and your doctor's diagnosis.

  • Neck pain and whiplash

Pain, stiffness and trouble turning your head.

  • Back pain and sciatica

Low or mid-back pain and pain that travels down the leg.

  • Shoulder and knee

Pain from the seat belt, bracing against the wheel or hitting the dashboard.

  • Dizziness and balance

Dizziness or unsteadiness, once a doctor has evaluated you.

Depending on your evaluation, treatment can include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, ultrasound, electrotherapy and low-level laser therapy.

Go to the emergency room or call 911 for a severe or worsening headache, numbness or weakness in an arm or leg, loss of bladder or bowel control, or confusion.

No PIP?

No PIP? Letters of protection or workers' comp

If your PIP ran out, was denied, or you have a claim against the at-fault driver, a letter of protection (LOP) may let you continue physical therapy; it is usually arranged through your attorney. If the crash happened while you were working, workers' compensation may apply, and we accept it.

Florida law prohibits paying for patient referrals and soliciting crash victims. This is not legal advice.

We do not accept Medicaid, including Florida Medicaid managed-care plans.

FAQ

Questions from Miami Gardens patients

?Do you accept PIP for car accident physical therapy in Miami Gardens?

Yes. All In One Specialty Health, at 16191 NW 57 Ave, Suite A, Miami Gardens, accepts Florida PIP and letters of protection (LOP) for physical therapy after a car accident. PIP first requires initial care within 14 days of the crash from a medical doctor, osteopathic physician, chiropractor, dentist, APRN, hospital or emergency services, and then a referral for physical therapy. For PIP, we bill your auto insurer directly. Billing directly does not guarantee coverage: what PIP pays depends on your policy and your claim.

?What is the 14-day rule?

Florida PIP pays medical benefits only if you get initial care within 14 days after the accident (§ 627.736(1)(a)). The clock starts on the day of the crash. A physical therapist cannot provide that first visit; physical therapy is follow-up care.

?Do I need a referral?

Yes, for PIP. Physical therapy under PIP needs a referral from the provider who gave you initial care or another qualifying provider (§ 627.736(1)(a)2). Bring it to your first visit. Physicians located in our building can perform the initial PIP evaluation within 14 days, and we coordinate your therapy plan with them. You can also bring a referral from your own doctor or chiropractor.

?Do you accept letters of protection?

Yes. With a letter of protection (LOP), treatment is paid later from a settlement or judgment, usually arranged by your attorney. In a lawsuit, Florida law (§ 768.0427(3)) requires disclosing the letter, itemized coded bills, your health coverage and whether you were referred for treatment and by whom.

?Where exactly are you in Miami Gardens?

At 16191 NW 57 Ave (Red Road), Suite A, Miami Gardens, FL 33014. The physicians in our building are a separate medical practice. For physical therapy, ask for All In One Specialty Health, Suite A. Parking is free, and there is a bus stop right in front of the clinic.

?Can I start this week?

Same-week appointments are available. Call (786) 613-7160 with your PIP claim number and your referral, or ask about an initial PIP evaluation with the physicians in our building, a separate practice. We cannot promise a specific day or time.

?Does it matter where the crash happened?

No. The PIP rules are the same for a crash on the Palmetto (SR 826), the Turnpike or a local street: get initial care within 14 days and a referral for physical therapy. If anyone is hurt, call 911, and keep the crash report number if police respond. This is general information, not legal advice.

If your question is not listed here, call our team and we will guide you to the right next step.
